Chesebrough Ponds (Canada) Inc. This is a brief note of thank you for your fine two-day early retirement Program that you delivered to our early retiree groups. From general feedback from each of the two groups, the program was helpful and interesting. Certainly, as a company we found your approach of considering retirement as a second career to be very refreshing and a key to smoothing the retirement way for any potential retiree. Although cause and effect are difficult to determine, we found our Early Retirement program to have resulted in 70% of employees selecting retirement, against a maximum expected 40 – 50%. Sunnybrook Health Science Centre: The participants enjoyed your approach to this phase in their lives. For some, retirement is the end of a good part of their lives, having worked at the hospital in excess of twenty-five years and they look to retirement with trepidation; for others, who have planned for retirement and cannot wait for the day, it is a time to move on to a new life. Your course presents alternatives for consideration to either group. For both sessions, the participants rated the workshop exceptionally high. Additionally, and to your credit, several employees who had not attended the most recent workshop commented that they had heard the presentation was interesting and beneficial and were sorry they had missed it.

The Corporation of the City of Brampton: We believe that the workshop successfully brought a new and different perspective to the attendees’ views on retirement and gave them both immediate and longer term benefits that should culminate in the practical application of the ideas and information that was presented. Ontario Ministry of Industry, Trade and Technology: The sessions were well delivered, fast moving, responsive and most important of all, appropriate. The workbook is excellent, and our participants have commented that it is easy to follow and contains valuable information. The Lifestyle segment, although different from other retirement programs, is most helpful in preparing people for retirement. It gives the participants the opportunity to assess their retirement plans in an objective and easy to follow manner. In fact, the only criticism we have encountered is that people wish they had had this course sooner. In short, I recommend the Second Career Program to any prospective clients.

Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources:  The seminar was successful and well received. I personally thought every aspect was beneficial; your knowledge, experiences and delivery cannot be improved upon. All this was also reflected on the assessment sheets. I should also mention that the comments which most commonly appeared were that some participants felt the career change workshop was extremely helpful for themselves as well as something they may wish to pass on to their children and that this course should be given to people in their 20’s and 30’s.

Ontario Ministry of Transportation: As Ministry coordinator, corporate Education, I arrange for many vendored programs, among them Pre-Retirement. We use Dr. Alan Roadburg of Second Career Program and appreciate working together with him to achieve program success. He has conducted a number of Pre-Retirement workshops for us over the past three years. We have been very pleased with the results of the programs, based on very positive participant evaluations and personal feedback. He brings direct experience and credibility to the program, along with an enthusiastic and personable approach. The quality of the content and delivery of these programs is very important to the Ministry- reflecting our organizational values and caring for staff.
